The FEO Project is a women-led sailing expedition to find environmental optimism in island communities across the world’s oceans.

We have the science on climate change, but it’s stories that we need. Stories based in hope, care, and commitment, with the power to inspire action. The FEO Project is a floating lab for environmental art & communication focusing on optimistic storytelling from the frontlines of the climate crisis.
Our plan
From Nsakek Deer Isle, Maine to Aotearoa New Zealand, we are setting sail in search of island-based environmental innovations that give us a sense of hope about the planet. We plan to meaningfully engage with island voices & visions to expand their work and impact while working to discover best practices for communicating island perspectives and potential. Along the way, we’re emphasizing low-carbon living and sharing lessons learned from land & sea.
Connect with island communities and environmental innovators across the Atlantic, Caribbean, and Pacific oceans
Share stories and insights from these people & places through multimedia methods, experimenting to find what’s most effective for inspiring climate action
Build a community of optimists that supports, sustains, and expands on this work, both through fundraising for the projects in focus and sharing insights on environmental communication and sustainable living
